Spike in fuel costs pushing up price of flight tickets in the U.S.

The cost of air travel in the United States has increased 36 percent this year.

It comes as demand for flights is ​also increasing as most COVID-19 restrictions ​in the country ​are lifted.

But surging fuel prices means even higher airfares could be in store.
