Dominica excludes Russians and Belarusians from citizenship program

EU and U.S. lawmakers are pushing for the end of ‘Citizenship by Investment’ programs in the Caribbean.

They say some Russian oligarchs are trying to avoid sanctions by getting dual citizenship in the Caribbean island of Dominica.

The tropical island paradise established this program in 1993, and is one of the cheapest in the world.

An investment of $100,000 can secure a Dominica passport, which grants visa-free access to more than 140 countries.
