Extreme weather conditions have been observed across the United States in recent days. Heavy rains have led to flooding in multiple states in the east, and south, while extreme heat waves have affected 50 million residents in six western states.

Record temperatures and dry conditions have also triggered new wildfires, claiming four lives and causing extensive destruction.
