Thousands gathered in Washington, D.C. and in cities across the United States ​on Saturday to demonstrate in support of women’s rights, and most notably, reproductive rights.

The ​so-called ‘Women’s Wave’ day of action was organized to send a message to lawmakers, candidates and voters ahead of next month’s Midterm elections, which will decide the balance of power in Congress, and ​could determine access to abortion in several states.
