The Embassy Chef Challenge returned to Washington, D.C. Thursday night after a two-year COVID hiatus.
Chinese chefs won the top prize in the Judges’ Choice Award. They featured fish flavored shrimp balls and mapo tofu with Chinese tea and baijiu.
Over 40 embassy chefs participated from around the world. With food and drink pairings, chefs showcased the unique flavors of their home countries.
Hundreds of locals and visitors flocked to taste the world. They also voted for best dish to determine the People’s Choice Award winner.
The first place in the People’s Choice Award went to the Embassy of the Philippines.
