More than one million Americans and Canadians are celebrating Christmas Day without power as a massive winter storm continues to pound North America. 

Nearly every continental U.S. state has been affected by a bomb cyclone, which brought snow, strong winds and freezing temperatures across more than 3,000 kilometers, causing at least 19 deaths.
