Safe drinking water access declines in Venezuela

In Venezuela, the search for clean water is a daily struggle.

A recent report by Human Rights Watch shows that access to drinking water and sanitation declined from 2021 to 2022 in the country, with some 4.4 million people in dire need of drinking water.

The scarcity has pushed many Venezuelans to dig for groundwater wells or pay for expensive bottled water.
