IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings wrap up

The IMF and World Bank insist their Spring Meetings finished with a “strong message of confidence and a willingness to cooperate,” despite a key committee failing to agree on a joint statement about the challenges facing the global economy.

Policymakers gathered in Washington, D.C. this past week amid concerns over record levels of debt, persistently high inflation, and collapses in the banking sector, with the IMF lowering its global growth forecast for 2023.
