Web Summit is landing in Rio de Janeiro.

It is the first time the mega tech conference will take place outside of Europe and it is sold out.

According to the organizers, the four-day event (May 1- 4) will bring together 900 startups, 500 investors and 300 speakers.  

The Web Summit, the world`s largest tech conference, is landing in Rio de Janeiro.

It is the first time the event will take place outside of Europe and it has sold out its 20,000 tickets.

Paddy Cosgrove, the CEO, and founder of what has been dubbed the “Davos of the Geek” spoke to CGTN about what he expects out of the first Web Summit in South America and China’s leading role in the tech scene.
