U.S. consumer inflation eases slightly in April

Inflation in the U.S. has slowed for the tenth month in a row, according to government figures released on May 10.

But prices are still rising faster than policymakers would like despite more than a year of interest rate increases.

The consumer price index which measures the cost of goods and services shows that April inflation rose 4.9 percent from the same month last year. It was the lowest increase in two years.
