Life expectancy in U.S. falls behind other comparable countries

U.S. health officials show the average life expectancy for Americans improved last year, but it’s still lower than its been in more than two decades years.

According to statistics drawn from government agencies around the world, life expectancy in the U.S. is nearly seven years shorter than it is in countries of comparable wealth, such as Germany, Australia, and Japan.
