Credit card debt hits a record high in the U.S.

New data shows that U.S. credit card debt hit a record high in the second quarter of the year increasing by 4.6 percent from the previous quarter to stand at $1.03 trillion.

The rise reflects several factors including rising consumer confidence amid cooling inflation. But could there be more difficult days ahead for some borrowers in a high interest rate environment.
