Global temperatures in September break record

World Today

The month of September was abnormally hot for the global average.

It was the fourth consecutive month to beat its own record for hottest average temperature ever recorded. That’s according to Europe’s Copernicus Climate Change Service, which collects data globally. The on-going El Niño phenomenon is partly to blame, but many scientists are astounded by the amount of increase in global average temperatures in September.

More communities are now starting to feel that urgency through unusually extreme weather events and catastrophic disasters.
