The APEC Leaders’ meeting comes only weeks after California Governor Gavin Newsom traveled to China on a trip that focused on climate action and partnerships between China and the richest state in the U.S.

Several agreements were signed between the two sides aimed at strengthening cooperation in the carbon market, climate investment and financing, adaptation, and environmental law enforcement.
