Election disruption from artificial intelligence poses the biggest risk this year, that’s according to a report released on Wednesday by the World Economic Forum.

The NGO’s ‘Global Risks Report’ says that AI-derived misinformation and disinformation could disrupt elections, as half of the world’s adult population heads to the polls in 2024.

Despite the benefits innovation can bring, the paper urges leaders to focus on cooperation and building guardrails against the technology.
