The World Meteorological Organization has confirmed that 2023 was by far the hottest year ever recorded, warning 2024 is likely to be even hotter.

This forecast appears to be already materializing in Brazil, as a heatwave has set new records, with Rio de Janeiro’s heat index hitting 62.3 degrees Celsius, the highest in a decade.
