Governor Ron DeSantis and the Republican lawmakers have pushed for additional reforms to the state’s electoral system despite having its last two elections cycles run without any major issues. Last year, Florida policymakers passed a new law affecting how Floridians register to vote, cast ballots, and verify votes.

Organizations assisting with voter registration have filed a lawsuit against the law, alleging it aims to suppress minority votes.
