In March, Cuba finished construction of the longest horizontal oil well in the country. It has been described as a “technological feat,” for the Cuban oil sector and China as a result of a long-time joint partnership in the sector. Oil wells drilled with Chinese technology have contributed to local power plants and when the island’s fuel imports are at low levels.
