Flooding and other extreme weather is devastating communities in East Africa, Brazil, the U.S. and elsewhere, and more dangerous storms could be on the way. CGTN’s Jim Spellman reports.

Floodwaters are overwhelming large parts of Kenya and Tanzania where Tropical Cyclone Hidaya hit the region over the weekend, which had already seen weeks of heavy rain and flooding. Hundreds have been killed and thousands forced from their homes.

Flooding in southern Brazil has killed dozens after intense storms washed out roads, cut power and water supplies and forced thousands to evacuate. Search and rescue operations are underway.
