A recent United Nations report provided a mixed bag of findings when it comes to the worldwide employment picture. On the positive side, it found global unemployment headed down, projected to reach 4.9% this year, from five percent in 2023. But it also found a stubborn lack of employment opportunities – impacting low-income women the most. CGTN’s Nitza Soledad Perez reports.

The report found that access to work remains unequal worldwide, with women in low-income countries being the most affected. Globally, 46% of working-age women were found to be employed in 2024, compared to 70% of men.
