Extreme heat in Southern California

World Today

A broiling heat wave is once again blanketing Southern California. The National Weather Service predicts the region could experience dangerous temperatures. It comes as a series of landslides in the coastal community of Rancho Palos Verdes triggered the declaration of a state of emergency, while power was shut off in some neighborhoods. In the meantime, fire crews in the northern part of the state are battling wildfires fueled by dry and windy conditions.
