The History

Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere. High unemployment rates, poverty, and lack of opportunities drive many young people towards gangs as a means of survival. Mike speaks to Robert Fatton, professor of Government and Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia. A native Haitian, he is the author of several books including : Haiti: International Dilemmas and Failuresand Haiti: Trapped in the Outer Periphery.’
