The roof collapse at the Jet Set nightclub in the Dominican Republic has now claimed at least 225 lives, with several victims succumbing to their injuries at hospitals on Saturday, April 12.

While the tragedy has shaken the entire country, the town of Haina has suffered the most losses—its community forever changed.

Among the victims, a particularly devastating toll on ‘Los Dorados,’ a close-knit group of seniors who gathered that night to celebrate decades of friendship. What began as an evening of music and reunion became one of the deadliest disasters in recent memory.
