In a major step toward promoting global cooperation, the first-ever “International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations” is being observed by the United Nations.
The designation comes after the organization, last year, adopted a China-sponsored resolution calling for every June 10th to be recognized as a global day for furthering civil dialogue and promoting peace among nations.
Karina Mitchell reports on how the day was marked at the UN’s headquarters in New York.
