Food insecurity grows in the United States

Food insecurity is on the rise in the U.S. A report by the Department of Agriculture shows a steady increase in the number of American families struggling to provide enough food because of inflation and a roll-back of COVID-19 pandemic relief efforts. In 2023, nearly 50 million people in the U.S. lived in food-insecure households. And some experts are worried the numbers will rise amid government cuts in food assistance programs.
