Computer chip makers are bracing for a period of uncertainty following U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to impose a 100% tariff on non-American semi-conductor chips.

European officials hope their companies will be shielded from this move through negotiations, but fears loom that the tariffs could hinder the EU’s efforts to become a major player in this sector.
