John Terrett is New York Correspondent for CGTN America covering Wall Street, the United Nations and life in and around the Big Apple.
A newsman since the 1980s, Terrett has worked for BBC World TV, Al Jazeera English, Al Jazeera America and appeared on numerous radio stations in the United States and throughout the world. At the BBC John co-presented the World Business Report from London and New York.
At Al Jazeera English, John covered the 2008 global financial collapse from Wall Street and also frequently reported the United Nations, the White House, Capitol Hill, the Supreme Court, Pentagon and the State Department. In 2010 John spent months working along the Gulf of Mexico after the Deepwater Horizon disaster and subsequent oil spill.
At Al Jazeera America, John worked major journalistic beats at the United Nations, the White House, Capitol Hill and the Supreme Court. He also covered major civil unrest following the deaths of unarmed black men at the hands of the police in Ferguson, Missouri and Baltimore, Maryland.
John is married to Mary-Ann, a school administrator. They have two children, Ellie, a TV producer and Imogen, a trainee nurse.
