CCTV America’s Asieh Namdar interviewed Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, the chief negotiator in multilateral talks on Iran’s nuclear capabilities on the sidelines of the current U.N. General Assembly meeting. Watch the full interview Monday starting at 9 p.m. EDT.
Asked him if he believes a deal can be reached before the November deadline, Zarif said he was optimistic:
“At the end of the day, the reason for my cautious optimism is that everybody knows that the alternative is far worse than having a deal that will have, under any circumstances, a good number of opponents….in all capitals: here in the United States, in Iran, elsewhere in Europe, but probably more in Washington and in Tehran.” – Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iranian Foreign Minister
