About 3,000 lawmakers from across China have arrived in the Beijing for the annual session of the National People's Congress. Spokeswoman Fu Ying briefed the media and CCTV's Han Peng was there.

Highlights:

  • The National People’s Congress is the highest organization of state power in China with thousands of deputies from around the country.
  • Anti-corruption and anti-graph measures take a top spot in this year’s NPC/ CPPCC talks.
  • 39 deputies to the National People’s Congress have been stripped of their posts or have resigned in the past two years.
