Stepping up the Clean Air Action plan, Beijing is closing down one of its major coal-power plants. The plant has been standing out from the rest of its neighbors in the city’s central business district for years. CCTV’s Wu Guoxiu filed this report from Beijing.
- Though emissions were lowered, the now defunct plant still burned over 1 million tons of coal.
- Closing it is said to be able to eliminate 1,413 tons of sulfur dioxide and 424 tons of dust.
