The list of the world's top 50 restaurants has been released, with one in Lima climbing eleven places to No. 4, pushing out a high-end New York restaurant to fifth place.
Another surprise on the list is that two of the top 15 restaurants and three of the best 50 are in the Peruvian capital of Lima. CCTV America's Dan Collyns filed this report from there.

World's best restaurants: Peru makes the cut for its culinary creations
The list of the world's top 50 restaurants is released and it appears one in Lima climbed eleven places to number four pushing out a high-end New York restaurant to fifth place. Another surprise on the list is that two of the top 15 restaurants and three of the best 50 are in the Peruvian capital of Lima.CCTV-America's Dan Collyns filed this report from Lima.Highlight:
- Central, the flagship eatery of chef Virgilio Martinez is at number four on the 2015 world's best 50 restaurants, according to Restaurant magazine.
- Astrid y Gaston, number 14 on the list, is the jewel in the crown of Gaston Acurio's culinary empire which includes more than 40 restaurants in 13 countries.
- Maido, a new entry, comes in at number 44. It's where Japanese and Peruvian cuisine meet - a style known as Nikkei.

While European countries hold the lion share of the top 50, Latin America's dominance on the list has been growing. Nine of teh top 50 are in Latin America, while only six are in North America.
