The situations in Iraq and Syria may be heightening tensions in the region. But there are other serious issues as well — like the ongoing fighting between government and rebel forces in Yemen.

Saudi Arabia and – alleged Iran – are involved in combat there. And though the United States is 7,000 miles away  it’s involved in the region, too. Primarily with air strikes, sometimes launched off the USS Roosevelt Aircraft Carrier.
