Venezuela has one of the world’s highest inflation rates, chronic food shortages and high crime.

Political analysts say the opposition party has a 30-point lead in opinion polls and people in Venezuela are ready for change. Opposition leaders warn a loss would amount to proof that the government committed voter fraud.
