The sprawling West Side area of Chicago is just a few miles away from the city’s downtown.
But the average life expectancy here is just 69 years of age that’s nine years below the national average and 16 years behind those living in the more affluent downtown area.
That’s why researchers and the local healthcare community launched a plan to cut the death gap in half by 2030.
