75th anniversary of the end of World War II

75 years ago, Japan’s government signed its formal surrender aboard a United States battleship to end the Second World War.

The ceremony was led by the U.S – whose intervention had turned the tide for Allied forces just as it had done in the First World War.

But fast forward to today and under President Trump, the U.S is now reconsidering its role and responsibilities as a global superpower.
