Nepal reopens Mt. Everest amid rise in COVID-19 cases

After a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mt. Qomolangma, or Mt. Everest as it’s known in the West, is back open for business. 

At least partially. While China has cancelled the spring climbing season on its side of the mountain, Nepal is allowing a record number of climbers to go for the summit, despite COVID-19 cases in its country.
