Social media is full of them: Images of empty supermarket shelves in some parts of the world and some creative measures to fill them.

That’s prompted fears that consumers won’t have what they need or want for the holiday season.

But U.S. President Biden insists they will – and the central bank is accelerating its strategy to rein in price rises, compounding the shortages.
