Dealing with waste and garbage in Rio de Janeiro’s favelas, or slums, is a significant daily challenge, without even confronting the need for recycling. But a local project, created by a young Canadian engineer, aims to turn trash into treasure in one of Brazil’s biggest favelas. This project turns bottle caps into truly unique skateboards.
