U.S. drug overdoses surge

The manufacturer of the prescription drug OxyContin has reached a settlement in connection with its role in the U.S. opioid epidemic. Purdue Pharma will pay states and local governments as much as $6 billion for contributing to a crisis that shows no signs of abating. The recent overdose deaths of five people in one event in Colorado is yet one more example. CGTN’S Hendrik Sybrandy reports.
