South by Southwest – the massive music, film, and tech festival – is back in Austin IN PERSON for the first time in three years.

It was one of the first major events to be canceled in the early days of the pandemic. And as tens of thousands descend on the city, the local music scene is embracing the much-needed boost.

As CGTN’s Toni Waterman reports – many musicians in the city are still reeling from the pandemic and much deeper entrenched problems that threaten the city’s status as the Live Music Capital of the World.
