Cuban lawmakers approve draft of the Family Code

A new national ‘Family Code’ is under review and debate across Cuba. Lawmakers approved the draft package of 471 articles back in December.

It offers updated government protections for a wide range of modern family dynamics, including gay marriage and the rights of children.

Now officials are touring the country, holding community meetings to gather feedback before a final version is approved this summer.
