U.S. FDA authorizes second COVID-19 booster shot

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has authorized a second booster shot of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines for people at higher risk of getting very sick from the coronavirus.

It comes at a time of fewer deaths from COVID-19 in the U.S., but with concerns that case numbers could rise again with newer strains.
