Volunteers are sifting through donations at this evacuation shelter in Sante Fe County, New Mexico.

Thousands of people have been told to leave their nearby homes, as a monstrous wildfire that’s already burned 80,000 hectares, or about 200,000 acres, inches closer to residential communities.

New Mexico’s second largest wildfire in history and currently the largest active fire burning in the country is still far from contained.
