Friday marks Women’s Equality Day in the United States, a day to commemorate the 1920 certification of the 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution, granting women the right to vote.
But this year’s celebration comes against the backdrop of what many women say is a narrowing of their rights as abortion bans take hold across America in the wake of the Supreme Court’s June opinion overturning Roe v. Wade.
