During the coronavirus pandemic, Cuba was able to effectively control the virus with vaccines developed and produced by its own pharmaceutical and biotech centers. 

The vaccines known as ABDALA and SOBERANA proved highly-effective against the virus, as acknowledged by Cuban scientists and international scientific institutions.
