Mexico's ban on genetically modified corn creates trade tensions with the U.S.

Trade tensions are increasing among economic allies in North America. It all comes down to one basic food item, corn.

Under the North American Trade pact, the United States and Canada want to force Mexico to continue purchasing genetically modified corn, worth billions of dollars a year. But Mexico plans to ban that corn next year.
