Aquifer depletion threatens agriculture in Colorado

For years, the focus of many U.S. water experts has been on the shrinking Colorado River.

But another large source of water, which lies underground, is also getting a lot of attention.

The Ogallala Aquifer, the largest aquifer in the country, is also becoming depleted, and that’s forcing farmers in that region to make some painful decisions.
