A new law has recently been enacted in the U.S. to help protect retailers in the fight against a rise in organized retail crime online.

Surveys by the National Retail Federation show retailers reporting an ongoing rise in organized retail crime and violence.

Critics of the new law say it may not be enough to prevent retail crime from getting worse online or in brick-and-mortar stores.
