With its origins in ancient China, dragon boat racing is one of the fastest-growing water sports in the world and a favorite among charities for its fundraising and team-building benefits. It’s popular in Chile, too.

The Chinese embassy made a donation of about $2200, and Fortale Senos will soon be sponsored by the Chilean state bank.

The support group is counting on making a difference to Chilean women for years to come.
