Retail sales in America during the crucial holiday season set a new record.
U.S. Census Bureau data shows shoppers spent nearly a trillion dollars in November and December – an increase of just under 4 percent on 2022 and confirming forecasts.

But the ease of online shopping that’s increasingly driving sales is also driving an enormous volume of returns and with them, a big rise in fraud. CGTN’s Owen Fairclough reports.
